- Claude Code v2.1.311: self-hosted runner hold flags, ultrathink at xhigh (2026-10-26). Adds --hold-idle-file and --max-hold-min to self-hosted-runner, makes ultrathink in the interactive terminal run its turn at xhigh effort on Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5, Haiku 5.5 and Fable 5.1, adds syntax coloring to code blocks in the VS Code extension, and ships a long list of fixes.
- Claude Code 2.1.299: idle compaction (2026-10-14). A 200K+ token conversation left idle for about 54 minutes is compacted before its one-hour prompt cache expires, so your next message doesn't reprocess it all. Configurable (CLAUDE_CODE_IDLE_COMPACT_MIN_TOKENS) or off ("idleCompaction": false).
- Claude Code 2.1.293 adds Claude Haiku 5.5 (2026-10-07). Claude Haiku 5.5 is added and is now the default Haiku model on the Anthropic API, with 1M context and $0.10/$0.50 per Mtok as stated in the changelog.
