About Loadout

Loadout tells you which AI tools to use for a given job, ranked, with the method published. It covers 12 use cases and 53 tools, 3 to 8 per job. It isn't a 10,000-tool directory. It's written for builders, vibe coders, agent tinkerers and game devs.

Where things stand

• Rankings: initial editorial order, pending agent-run tests. No Loadout Score is shown until a tool is tested.
• Agent-Ready: all 53 tools scored from public docs, every point linked to a source (leaderboard).
• Tests: 4 logs published (smoke tests, evidence reviews, harness validation), each labeled for what it is (test logs).
• Methodology: v0.2, with a public changelog.

How it's made

Research, data entry and site builds are done with AI agents working from public sources. Every price and claim carries a source URL and a verified date. Sources go to the data file (rankings.json), and anything we could not confirm on an official page is marked unverified (empty fields show as TBD) rather than guessed.

Independence

Rankings are never for sale. Loadout has no sponsors and uses no affiliate links today. Read the disclosures, including a conflict of interest that affects two ranked tools, and the advertising policy.
